CrossFit GVA 2016 Fat Loss Challenge

After the huge success of our first two Fat Loss Challenges last year, (see comments below), we will run a new one starting on Monday 1st February. The main goal of this challenge is to help you learn how to burn fat efficiently and to start you on a new way of thinking about food and nutrition in general.

We know that many people struggle when trying to lose fat. Just look around you at all the various products, diets and other aids commercially available to help you.

The funny thing is that fat loss is not particularly complicated. In fact it is very simple. You need to eat less calories than you burn. But that doesn’t make it easy. Trying to stick to a plan 24 hours a day 7 days a week over weeks and months is extremely difficult.

Training can be the same way. You didn’t sleep last night, had a shitty day at work, then you have to go to the gym and squat. Maybe you can get away with a few curls instead and call it a day?

Now we don’t do that at CrossFit GVA. You come to the gym, join the group and train hard. Can you imagine watching your classmates struggling under a heavy barbell while you do a few curls in the corner? Of course not!

And that is the key to sticking to any program whether it be diet or nutrition. Accountability.

If somebody is watching over you while you do something, you are going to do it as well as you can.

Diet works in the same way. Staying accountable to a group is invaluable in sticking to a plan and forming habits.

Our fat loss challenge will work on a very simple premise. There will be a set of rules to follow for a 5 week period in order to get results.

We will be providing tips along the way, but this course won’t be a comprehensive nutritional education program.

This course is for those of you who know more or less what you need to do to lose fat. You just struggle to actually put it into practice.

What we will be giving you on this course is the basic premise of how to lose fat, along with the magic A word – Accountability.

This will be an online course run via email and Facebook. You will need to be active every day of the course, not just reading posts online but providing information.

If you don’t use Facebook or don’t think you need to actively participate, then please don’t sign up. It won’t work.

If you are motivated to learn the basics of fat loss and need a helping hand to get the ball rolling, this challenge is for you.

This is a 5 week course which will start on Monday 1st February. All you need to participate is a willingness to lose some fat and a Facebook account.
