Individual Training at CrossFit GVA

We have always had a policy of supporting individual training at CrossFit GVA. We understand that many people want to do additional work outside of the regular classes in order to work on different areas of fitness.
We encourage and support everyone to spend extra time working on mobility, pull ups, double unders, muscle ups, handstand push ups or whatever it is you that you want to focus on.
We have open gym available in the Lab from Monday to Friday 6:30 to 17:00. We also have weekend open gym sessions available on Saturday 10:00 to 14:00 and Sunday 10:00 to 13:00.
We want to continue our support of individual training. However if you are training on your own please take note of the following rules:

Class will always take priority over individual trainees in terms of space and equipment. Please don’t take any equipment or floor space being used by the class. If a class is using a rack, either work in with the class or wait until they have finished.

Try not to be too noisy. It is very hard to instruct a large class if somebody is hammering out sprints on the Air Bike or doing double unders. They are very loud!

Please try to limit coming in at peak times to train on your own. This means between 18:00 – 19:30 on weekdays.

If the Lab is empty then use it! Don’t train in the garage during a class if the Lab is free.

If a coach needs to ask you to move or give up a piece of equipment, it is already too late! If in doubt please ask the coach on duty if it is ok to use certain pieces of equipment. If you are training on your own it is up to you to ask, not of the coach on duty to police you.

Be cool! If everyone obeys the rules then we can all do what we want.
