Project Bra WOD – Saturday 10th December

On Saturday 10th December we are joining other CrossFit gyms around the world for a special WOD dedicated to survivors of sexual violence.

This day marks the end of 16 Days of Activism (25 Nov – 10 Dec), a time to raise awareness & eliminate gender-based violence.

The WOD is part of Project Bra, organised by ex-CrossFit GVA member Claire McFarlane. Claire is currently attempting to run 16km of beach in every coastal country in the world in under 3 years. This is a global campaign of peaceful action to give a voice to those who have been raped, remove the taboo around rape, raise funds for healing programs and ultimately open a dialogue so that lasting change can be made.

This will be a team WOD that will be part of our regular Saturday classes.

The WOD is as follows:

This is a two part workout: A & B

Team up in pairs. You’ll be working together as a team to keep the bar off the ground throughout workout A.

PART A – for time (time cap 25 mins)

75 deadlifts (50kg / 35kg)
50 push ups
25 hang cleans (50kg / 35kg)
50 pull ups
75 overhead lunges (35kg / 25kg)
50 reverse burpees
25 shoulder to overhead (35kg / 25kg)

PENALTY: 5 thrusters per team any time the bar touches the ground. Use bar that is available. Only one team member allowed to move at a time.

PART B
Max burpees in 5 minutes

DETAILS:
Part A
– Only one bar per team. The bar must not touch the ground throughout the entire workout. This will require a lot of team work when unloading weight.
– Only one team member allowed to move at a time. The team member not moving, must hold the bar off the ground for any movements that have no bar in use.
– Scale to best suit the team member who has the lowest one rep max.
– Any time the bar touches the ground the team has a penality of 5 thrusters. Ony one team can perform the movement at a time. Once all 5 thrusters are completed the team must resume the WOD.

Part B
Only one team member can perform the movement at a time. Burpee reps can be broken up however the team chooses.
