CrossFit is a training method created in California by Greg Glassman and his wife Lauren. They were unable to find a good recognised definition of fitness in the literature, so they decided to develop their own. They designed their program to train: His goal was to create a training program which allowed his athletes to develop a comprehensive level of fitness, strength, flexibility, endurance, muscular endurance, coordination, power, agility, balance and accuracy.
But above all, CrossFit is fun! CrossFit uses functional movements so athletes can work on and improve their physical and mental condition. We regularly organise events (friendly competitions, evenings out and activities outside of the gym). CrossFit GVA is a community where the clients are members and the members are friends.
Most of our members found CrossFit by watching videos on the internet and most of them had the same reaction, “CrossFit is not for me, I’m not good enough”. However, there is no minimum level required to start CrossFit. CrossFit is designed to improve your fitness and that means that it is infinitely adaptable to all ages and abilities.
