Tomorrow, we offer you 3 outdoor WODs, just in front of 1227. This will allow us to easily use equipment in the room without being able to enter or have access to the changing rooms or toilets. So please bring enough warm clothing and drinks.

Nutrition will always be a major component of a healthy lifestyle, regardless of how much you are training. We have tools that can help you to take some time to work on your food intake to improve your body composition and overall health. The primary tool we have at our disposal is the Inbody scanner at CrossFit GVA who gives a comprehensive overview of body composition.

We are offering you all a free Inbody scan over the next few days. If you want to book a scan, you can find available slots in Zenplanner. 

The scan takes about 5 minutes, but each slot will be 20 minutes so you can have an explanation of the results and ask any nutrition questions you may have.

After the events of 2020, I’m sure you are all as curious as I am to discover what 2021 will bring us. What I know for sure is that it will not start in a traditional manner. 
January is usually boom time for gyms as people take advantage of the window of self reflection to take actions to create a healthier lifestyle.

This year of course is different. Not only is motivation less than normal, access to facilities are restricted and we are all stuck at home again. We’ve been here before of course and we know what to expect. As CrossFit GVA our mission statement has not changed and remains the following:

“To have a measurable impact on the lives of our members, making them fitter, stronger and healthier human beings able to take on any physical challenge life throws at them.”

The part about taking on any “challenge life throws” is more applicable than ever. Despite the limitations we face, our commitment is to help our members remain fit, strong and healthy. 

We don’t have any revolutionary new methods of doing this during a lockdown, but we will be providing you with any tools we can. Programming will remain constant so you can train at home with equipment or not. If you don’t have equipment, you can still borrow a kettlebell or dumbbell from us for use at home.

WE WILL MISS YOU ! 🖤 Unfortunately, this year WE WILL MISS YOU ! 🖤

Unfortunately, this year has another sting in its tail for us. After 5 years of dedicated service as a coach and programming guru, Tristan is moving on from CrossFit GVA. 

Tristan joined us 5 years ago and although at that time CrossFit GVA had already become a pretty large community, he has made a huge mark on us all.

We wish him all the best for the future as well as our thanks for everything he has given us over the last 5 years.

Tristan’s words:

« Hi everyone, it’s time for me to say goodbye to CrossFit GVA. I’m going to devote some time to the projects that I’ve been working on in the past few years, namely working on individual coaching and continuing my education.

This is a new chapter of my life and the end of a 5 year relationship. I have a lot of great memories and I’m delighted to have had the chance to cross paths with you. I hope I have been able to leave a good impression and had some modest impact on you reaching your training goals. It goes without saying that you have all had an impact on my time at CrossFit GVA.

Having said all that, its not a complete goodbye… You will still see me around at the gym where I will carry on private coaching as well as organising seminars with different partners focused on skills required for CrossFit. When the time comes I will give GVA more information on these events, if one day Covid lets us see each other again, or if, as I’m sure is the case, you miss my playlists!

I hope you have enjoyed as much as I have the classes we shared together, but also all our time together over the last 5 years.

Take care of yourselves and I hope to see you all soon! »

« This photo was taken moments before my first muscle-up. Three years before, I had severe back problems and was not able to walk to the end of my road without experiencing pain. My doctor advised me to improve my core strength and to start lifting weights. I started Crossfit, built up slowly and used only light weights at first. The coaches were great. Soon I saw big improvements in my health, strength and mobility. I made lots of new friends and now I train several times a week. It's a brilliant way to get fit and there's a really supportive community of people who want to help you achieve your goals. »

« Cette photo a été prise quelques instants avant mon premier muscle-up. Trois ans auparavant, j'avais de graves problèmes de dos et je ne pouvais pas marcher sans ressentir de douleurs. Mon médecin m'a conseillé d'améliorer ma force centrale et de commencer à soulever des poids. J'ai commencé à faire du Crossfit, je me suis musclé lentement en n'utilisant que des poids légers au début. Les coachs étaient super. Peu de temps après, j'ai constaté de grandes améliorations dans ma santé, ma force et ma mobilité. Je me suis fait beaucoup de nouveaux amis et maintenant je m'entraîne plusieurs fois par semaine. C'est une façon géniale de se mettre en forme et il y a une communauté de personnes qui vous soutiennent vraiment et qui veulent vous aider à atteindre vos objectifs. »
